"Bowl 03 A view at the water's edge, animals and plants life and how they intertwine at the water's edge, as we view them from a distance. This thrown bowl has a carved exterior surface using a technique called sgraffito after you coat the surface with an underglaze and then carve away the negative spaces. The bowl is then fired in a wood kiln for 30 hours by stoking the fire every 3 to 5 minutes which creates the finish from the direct hit from the flame and ash which creates the finished look. The inside of the piece is glazed and is food safe, microwave and dishwasher safe."
