44 "Waiting for the Cormorant" by Jan Norsetter (*framed)

"The Sugar makes its way from Verona to Belleville where this one was painted en plein air. While there's always wildlife along the river I find I watch the wildlife but rarely get around to painting it. "Waiting for the Cormorant" is a great example of that. While setting up my easel I saw a bird I didn't recognize. I'd previously only seen pictures of a cormorant. I watched it for quite some time and then it was gone. I'd hoped it would come back to its perch on the river, next to the little sand bar -- it did not. I didn't even take a picture of it. Such are the thoughts and (in)actions of this plein air painter."
